Genesis Clinic

In 2009, I joined the founding team of Genesis Clinic in Johannesburg, one of the city’s pioneering active birth clinics. The maternity centre, equipped with ten private water-birth rooms and averaging 100 births per month, was driven by a passionate collective of midwives, doulas, doctors, and holistic practitioners. Together, we aimed to transform women’s birth experiences, creating a space of empowerment and support.

Drawing on my background as a *doula I led Genesis Clinic’s digital and marketing work, developing and executing social media strategies, producing and proofing content, designing graphics and templates, managing website content and design, and overseeing end-to-end email marketing campaigns, building a cohesive and impactful online presence. These contributions significantly grew the clinic’s visibility, attracted new clients, and fostered a vibrant, engaged community.

The clinic’s acquisition in 2015 by Life Healthcare, a leading South African healthcare provider, reflected the impact of our collective work. After its closure in 2023, Genesis Clinic reopened in 2025 under its original founder and shareholders, where I designed and built the website, developed and researched all written content, created the social media strategy, and produced visual and written content for the clinic’s foundational relaunch phase, ensuring a cohesive and professional brand presence.
